Clinician Display name vs. Legal Name

We have many clinicians on our team that use a name different than their legal name. We need the legal name to show up on the claims but for everything else, we need the clinician's actual name (the one they go by daily) to show up on everything else. This is especially important as a queer-centered and trans affirming practice, but this just makes sense for everyone!

Couldn’t agree more. I’m struggling with clients, and now support tickets, addressing me by my legal name.
There’s 3 separate suggests with votes for this, is there any traction on this?

As a practice with queer providers and a person who only goes by their nickname this is a critical feature. Clients have expressed confusion in the past when things come from "Legal Name" and they only know us as "Name we go by" -Lexa (not Alexandra ;)

Fully agree with this and Ed's comments. I am struggling with new clients calling me by my name on my license which is not a name I go by.

I agree with this on many levels. There needs to be a clear and precise delineation between professional name and patients name. Do NOT use "preferred name" since this is derogatory. Legal name isn't accurate either. It should be most accurately "name" and "name on license" since that's the demarcation. This goes to many situations. Skip Smith to patients/clients might be William Smith. William Smith might be divorced and now back to his maiden name of William Jeeves but it can take years to get professional licenses changed. The SAME applies to our gender expansive/diverse professionals. This is way more than supporting those of us in the queer community, it's appropriate professional eidetic with the people we serve

Fully support this. I was just thinking how needed this feature is, as I go by my middle name which is what I'd rather have displayed in the portal (with my first initial), however want prescriptions to be sent with my full legal name. I have many trans and nonbinary colleagues who use names other than their legal names, so this feature is a must.

This has become extremely frustrating for my team since we started using the intakeQ/OfficeAlly claims integration.
I had to change one of my provider's accounts to their legal name and now clients are calling them by their legal name, clients are getting all the notifications with the practitioners legal name and is is really frustrating for this provider.
We are also actively recruiting trans providers and have some in the pipeline, and having their deadname constantly sent to clients and everywhere on their account is just not acceptable so I don't know how I am going to navigate this.
There is so much flexibility for client names, I honestly did not expect this issue till I was faced with it.
I can't just change each individual claim that is sent either, since we are in the middle of setting up claim automations. :(
