Pop up on a patient

I’d like to see a pop up when opening the chart that’s just a general text box or sticky note AND it would also be super helpful to have a little icon (perhaps a small flag, triangle or circle in a different color) visible from the booking page on their appointment box that would alert our team that there is a notification they should read prior to their visit (instead of having to go in and open their chart first). It would be extra helpful if one could click on that small icon from the booking page to quickly view that ‘sticky note’ from that page as well. I think it would be OK in our practice to have anyone be able to mark that completed or delete that note once completed. I have tried utilizing the tags feature for similar notifications but not everyone sees that tag as it’s only viewable on certain pages and when our practitioners go in to just do notes, they do not see the tags so I do believe this new feature would be a huge help. Thank you!!

Hi All, What if we had a way to add a predefined alert and/or free text field to add notes to the alert. The alerts would show at the top of the client profile.
You could:
- Add an end date
- Choose the default alert type. Default alert type could have certain actions tied to the alert (Take payment, Update Insurance etc, Start Lab, etc).
- Add a free text note
How would you want to handle dismissing these notes
- Only certain roles can manually dismiss
- End date will dismissHi All, What if we had a way to add a predefined alert and/or free text field to add notes to the alert. The alerts would show at the top of the client profile.

Thanks!

Tyson Edwards: I think the Alert type is too limiting. I would prefer a free text field. Off the top of my head, I would use this to remind me to do AIMS evaluations q6 months and labs q12 months. I suspect other specialties would have other tasks that need to be done custom to their field. I could see myself using a variety of reminders, like requesting an ROI, or if they need to update insurance or credit card for auto-pay. The balance due would get used frequently. I like the idea of having programable start/stop dates. Personally, I see myself manually dismissing alerts. Seems like this could almost be an enhancement of the existing tasks function. If that were the case, there are significant triggers that could be added to that function.

Tyson Edwards: I thik keeping it as simplistic as possible, a quick pop up with free text to remind you of anything important and allow it to pop up in the appointment screen as well as there chart. A quick "X" like a tag to remove would be sufficient. There are tasks for important reminders already with dates etc. so keeping the pop up simplified should be fine.

Tyson Edwards: I agree with the others. Having the simple pop up and customizable to whatever category you would want to add in yourself would be great. The key difference in this versus a task is that it is something we want to notify a practitioner in real time regarding that patient. Could be a heads up to ask the patient about insurance expiring or a note regarding things like vision limitations or a note regarding labs or 100 other things. So I like the rest of it where it can be set to expire or can be manually edited to put in whatever you want. Thanks!

Tyson Edwards: This is cool- also would be nice to have ability to name the alert. I think the things I would want to add most as an alert are the info I use most for clients- their legal name, DOB in format mm/dd/yyyy and their insurance ID number. But I would also use it to highlight a balance due.

Tyson Edwards: Hi Tyson! I think it depends on the alert that was set up. If it is related to billing or an Admin type of note then only the Admin should be able to delete the pop up alert. This would prompt the provider to notify Admin that the alert has been taken care of. Then, Admin can confirm and delete pop up alert. In our office, the tags are added by Admin staff. If a provider needs to be reminded of labs, preauthorization, or anything related to patient care, they can use the tasks or session tracker to populate a task instead of a pop up alert. The chart shows a message at the top that there are open tasks for this client. A pop up alert can show up also alerting the provider the session tracker has expired or task is required so it is more noticeable. Maybe once the task has been completed for patient care related pop ups, then the alert will automatically be removed too. Pop up alerts should be added by Admin to alert providers and session trackers, which create a task after the #of session has been completed generates a task. The task can populate the pop up alert if needed for the provider which will be removed once task is checked off that it is completed. Tasks and pop up alerts can be tied together maybe with an option when creating the task to generate a pop up alert or not.

Shawn Faust: You would have am RTF (hopefully) free text field to write whatever was needed.

Shawn Faust: yes this is a great idea.

Tyson Edwards: Not sure if this was mentioned by others but for me, prescribing schedule II meds I would love an alert that can be set up to pull eforsce every 30 days for refills, not just an alert that pops up when I open the patient chart but an alert that will populate on a repeating bases. I understand you can do this with tasks maybe but the tasks get buried and not really user friendly for these types of things in my opinion.

Tyson Edwards: I would like it to be one where I can label, such as a pop up for meds, and a pop up for EMDR resourcing notes, or if I need to check with a client on claims that kicked out, and then, for some, I can delete, or leave on there permanently. Does this make sense?

Tyson Edwards: sounds very helpful thank you. It would be better for my group if we had the ability to set roles to manually dismiss or also had the option of setting an end date. If you have to pick one or the other I would rather have to manually dismiss.

Tyson Edwards: would this show up if you are in a note? I open the patients note directly from my schedule so I wouldn’t want to miss it. This is part of the problem with using the comment box now, I don’t tend to see it. In my past practice is was a pop up window that had to be exited to get into the patient chart (if you chose that check box for the alert) along with a banner (you could also choose just the banner). I think the banner would work as long as it showed up when in a note as well but if not I would really appreciate the pop up box option.

Tyson Edwards: I love this idea! I really hope IntakeQ incorporates something like this along with a pop up with free text (as others have mentioned)

Tyson EdwardsYes, Definitely an alert. It would be even more functional if you could add an alert date as well. For admin it would really be nice to be reminded to call a patient and then have a text field for what the call is about.

I was just adding this to a request. This is NEEDED. All the time every day. I have to use comments to remind myself "pt needs labs at next appt" (ex) and then make sure to remember to check comments prior to each appt. The last EHR I had did this and we had to "acknowledge" it before moving on to the chart. We would also have to remove it when done or it would come up every time. PLEASE ADD THIS FEATURE!

Came searching for this feature request and I see I'm not alone. Would love it for the Balance due alert, update insurance alert, a free text alert for unique situations such as an adult with a guardian, preferred pronoun, lab results, do not reschedule. We had this in my previous EMR and I have been missing it (though overall IntakeQ has been better). I think free text only is perfectly fine. In the old EMR you could schedule it to end on a certain date or be permanent until deleted. It time stamped when it was created which was really helpful in certain situations.

This would be great!! I did not know how to pin notes, and I am super busy. A quick pop up would be awesome!
