For medicare patients in a physical therapy setting, it is required to send a plan of care to the referring physician (this is performed by fax) for them to sign and return. It would be helpful to have a way to:
  1. when the fax is sent directly from note, have the fax that is sent back automatically attach to that specific note (rather than doing it manually)
  2. (more importantly) Notify us within a certain period of time (2-3 days) if that note has not been faxed back (authorized by physician)
  3. and/or develop a tab that can list "pending plan of cares" meaning maybe for 3 options A. plan of care not sent, B. Plan of care sent (or pending signature) C. Plan of care received
Tracking this is very difficult and time consuming currently as we have to individual track and go into each patient chart and check all the individual plan of cares across all these notes and for all clients. I know many who have switched to other EMR's simply for this feature. Thank you!
