You can create a task from portal messages on the Recent Portal Messages widget on the Dashboard. Does this solve your request Ed?

Tyson Edwards: Sort of - except for the fact that since the Widget doens't have read-unread flags showing - it's really not a funcitonal widget. If don't know what hasn't been read, then I still need to operate in the portal itself and can't crate a task there.
