Couple, Family & Minor Profiles

Other EMR's offer this option - we need it! We need to keep couple files separate from Individual files & notes (for legal reasons), and we need the ability to set up a minor profile & assign a minor different paperwork than a regular/adult new client.
See a great example here:

Agreed! I am an IBCLC and charting for twins/multiples and parent is challenging. It would be great if there were a guardian/parent profile that allowed us to have multiple minors connected to it while somehow allowing pinnings to be differentiated by minors. “Pin to X profile”

I would REALLY like to see an update that includes this couples/family chart options as soon as possible. Our practice sees a lot of overlap in clients, particularly in terms of individual and/or family/relationship dynamics, and IntakeQ's portal and chart features need some work to make things separate. We desperately need this feature, not only for the sake of keeping documentation separate and HIPAA compliant, but also so portal messages are separated per client, per provider, and per staff member. It's kind of a nightmare to work around the current chart setup if trying to work with couples or families.

I work with Kids… there is no Field for Parent/Guardian when doing an intake, only a Emergency Contact. A field like this is needed, and to go to the basic patient info section.

As we continue using IQ, another thing I look forward to regarding this is the ability for every client's form of treatment to be available for access in the client portal. Right now we have a work around for couples & family units (+1 email) and if they are seen for multiple units with this workaround they cannot access their info/appointments/superbills in the portal.

My practice is mostly couple and family therapy. As others have said previously, flexibility is key to the usefulness of this feature. I like the "cases" idea suggested previously. Something that would give each person their own profile and allow them to be part of a *couple client" but also an "individual client" or a "family client," etc., whether simultaneously (seen by different practitioners most likely) or at different times. Notes for a case would autopopulate to all clients who are part of that case.
(I did NOT like the way Simple Practice implemented this idea - that was one of the reasons I switched to IQ.)

Hoping this is rolled out soon! Will be a game changer.

Just a note as you are working on this: there are a LOT of IBCLCs using practiceQ! If there is a way to make this work for nursing parent+baby (or babies, in the case of multiples) that would be incredible. Right now all my charting is done under the parent's name/chart and it would be wonderful to have a way to easily both combine/separate them at each appointment. Happy to talk more about specifics if that's helpful.

Hello, just wanted to share a small update that might help this.
We have released a way for a client to have third-party (non-client) contacts. This will allow you to send forms, create a chat portal and allow the contact to manage appts and billing for the cleint. We will be adding more support for "Couples" workflows in the future but this should help some!
You can see how to add and manage contacts from this article:
Would you all be able to take a look and let me know how it works for you?
