Update so far - I haven't used this feature very much, to be honest, because by the time I finish a section and am ready to collapse it, I'd have to scroll all the way up to the top of the section to do the collapsing. When I have time, I may try to break my note into smaller sections to see if that helps. I would LOVE LOVE LOVE a way to jump to different sections as that would make it easier to navigate as well as easily jump to the top of a section in order to quickly collapse.
Tyson Edwards
Rebecca Costello: Once you are done with the section, instead of scrolling up, just click the "Collapse All" button and then you can just click into the next section you want to work on.

Tyson Edwards: I'll give that a try, thanks!

Thank you so much! The collapsable heading is very nice!

Hello all, this is available today. On the live note, you will see an arrow on the Section question type that will collapse everything in that section. You can click the whole line to collapse/expand, not just the button. Please give it a shot and let me know how it's working our for you all!

Tyson Edwards: Do we have to create a new note for this to show up?
Thank you, looks great!

Tyson Edwards: Can there be a collapse all option at the top of the note? This is super helpful - thanks!

Tyson Edwards: This is great so far! I love the ability to expand/collapse all, or to do so for specific sections only. Thanks!
J
Jennifer Hill
Tali Ganir: Nope, I just tried it when viewing an existing note. It works! :)
Tyson Edwards
Carian McLean: Sorry, forgot to mention, there is a collapse/expand all button under the X.
T
Tali Ganir
Jennifer Hill: Thanks! I figured I didn’t have titles to collapse, which is why I didn’t see the option :)

Tyson Edwards: The collapse/expand all button on the very top doesn't work very well on our iPads or any mobile device I've checked in our office. Works great on desktops/laptops... It would be awesome if we could add an optional "Table of Contents" block on the top of the note that we could add in similar to adding a section title. This would be great for quickly getting to certain parts of the note.

Would also be really helpful if we could expand/collapse in the preview when editing note templates...

It acts weird when their is "Section Text" in addition to a Section Title... The text doesn't toggle along with the section title as it should...

Tyson Edwards: not sure if it's something I did but it seems since I have the collapsible note it may have messed with my rules?? For example I have if question number 15 is marked yes show question 16 and that seems to not be working

Tyson Edwards: This is a great solution, thank you for working on this project!

Tyson Edwards: I'll be using it for visits so I'll let you know! Very excited! My first impression though is that it's a bit of a pain to scroll all the way back up to the top of a section to collapse. Could the collapse button be at the top AND bottom of the section?
R
Rebecca Costello
Chris Cox: yes! I would love a table of contents so I could easily jump to parts of the note.
Tyson Edwards
Tali Ganir: No, you should not have to.
Tyson Edwards
Judith diaz: Please send me an email here with the questionnaire name. hello+tyson@intakeq.com
Tyson Edwards
Chris Cox: can you send me the questionnaire name to hello+tyson@intakeq.com.

Tyson Edwards: Which one are you referring to?
Tyson Edwards
Chris Cox: This one. "It acts weird when their is "Section Text" in addition to a Section Title"

Tyson Edwards: awesome !
Marwin Margolies
Yes, this would be awesome. I'd also love if the greyed out things we dont select, could become invisible in the final note...(not just the printable PDF)
T
Tali Ganir
Marwin Margolies: Yes, reading my notes from previous visits is so tedious because there is so many unselected options!
J
Jennifer Hill
Tali Ganir Marwin Margolies: You can change this under the form's settings (in the "Advanced Settings" tab). There is an option to hide unselected options.
Edit: Ah, but reading the original post, I see now that you are referring to viewing the note in the system, not via the printable pdf. I agree, that would be a helpful option to have.
Marwin Margolies
Jennifer Hill: yes- i see that but im talking abt in note view in the practiceq website, not the pdf. for when im just quickly browsing thru someones chart.
J
Jennifer Hill
Marwin Margolies: Yes, apologies for misunderstanding. I agree, that would be extremely helpful (and easier on the eyes!).

Collapsible or tabs would be amazing! less so the buttons, as you would need to return to that or scroll to hop around to the sections.
Tyson Edwards
What if we added a button to allow you to jump to the different sections?
T
Tali Ganir
Tyson Edwards: it won’t make the note shorter, which is our goal.
Will this be available throughout the note or just on top?
Tyson Edwards
Tali Ganir: it would always show on the note meaning it will not scroll off. Maybe could make the Section title "sticky" so the title is visible as long as you are in that section.
Cathleen Walker
Tyson Edwards: yes this is what I mean
T
Tali Ganir
Tyson Edwards: Personally I prefer to be able to collapse the sections, leaving only headlines, so scrolling through is much shorter.

Dr. Whitney Legler
Tyson Edwards: Yes, anything collapsible would be a benefit. I think sections would work if I am clear on what sections are.
J
Jennifer Hill
Tyson Edwards: A button for jumping to different sections would be helpful. I'd be happy with either option (jump button or collapsible sections).

Tyson Edwards: any updates?

Tyson Edwards: It's been 7 months (and a few years) of asking for this feature. While I know it didn't rank high on the popularity contest, this is such an important feature for our workflow. Please consider it.

Kara Thornton
Tyson Edwards: this would be helpful-- anything like tabs would make going through notes so much easier. right now it's a huge amount of scrolling and not time efficient , especially mid-consult
