Hold shift when clicking spot

Yes! And my biggest frustration with blocking time is I will navigate to the date to make sure I don't already have something in that spot, then select block time and it defaults to tomorrow instead of the date I am looking at on the calendar already. It'd be helpful if when you click it'd default to the day you clicked on, like it does with Appts.
