Hello, we have released a way for a client to have third-party (non-client) contacts.
This will allow you to keep the client as the minor account and add any parents as a contact. Currently, you will still need an email or phone in the clients profile but you can disable any appt communications for the client as they are shown as a "Self" contact. We will be updating this workflow in the future to not require an email of phone for client creation as long as a contact has one.
You can see how to add and manage contacts from this article:
Would you all be able to take a look and let me know how it works for you?

Tyson Edwards: Hi Tyson. I just started playing around with it. Is there any way we could add the "Recipient Name" and "Recipient First Name" options to the Email Templates in Booking Settings, such as appointment reminders? I don't see these fields available there, although I do see them available for automatic notifications under the main Email Settings. Even better than this would be if these fields were also available when working with the Rich Text Editor within a client profile.
Thanks to you and the whole support team for the work you've put into this. I have other ideas about how we could use this new contact feature but would like to test it out more and this alone is a huge improvement in the right direction for those of us who work primarily with minors. Thank you!

Alina Font, Ph.D.: Thank you for the feedback and the kind words! We are excited to provide this as we know how needed it is.
These are currently available, they just aren't selectable in the every UI yet. Also, not sure about the RTE but can check.
[RecipientFirstName], [RecipientLastName] and [RecipientName]

Tyson Edwards: thank you again. In my account, I only have the ‘Name’ and ‘First Name’ options and only in the email settings as I described. I look forward to seeing the full roll out as it is completed. 🎉🥳

Tyson Edwards: Thank you for this feature! One thing we noticed is that if you add the parent as a contact, then you can't link them to access the portal messages for the child. Is there a way to have this as an option?

Editing to add: It seems to be working now - at least for appointment confirmations, cancellations, and scheduled messages. I was also able to successfully use the "Recipient Name" tag for an intake packet. This is a great start. Thank you!
Tyson Edwards: Hello again! I've had a little more time to play with this feature this evening and it does not appear to be working for me even within the limits of what I seem to have available. For a test client, I added an additional contact, then I went and modified my email message that is sent with a new form when booking a specific service to include the 'Recipient Name' tag. I booked a new appointment that triggers a specific form and was able to see that second contact listed in the appointment window before saving the appointment and could see the contact was set to receive appointment confirmations. The main client account email did receive the form and appointment confirmation but neither were received at the email I listed for that additional contact. Please do not take this as a complaint as I know you are still testing:). I simply wanted to provide the feedback since you asked for us to let you know how it is working for us. Good luck!

Alina Font, Ph.D.: Ok I can start a support ticket. This hasn't been the case in our testing.

Tyson Edwards: see above - I edited my comment to let you know it was corrected later last evening. Thank you!

Hello, we will have support for this with our Client Contacts feature very soon. We are currently in beta with it so should be releasing the first version in the next couple weeks.

Tyson, Ryan, anyone..... Can you please help all of us understand where PQ is in moving this feature along? SO many of us need this to effectively manage our adolescent client profiles.

Yes! And then, even when you link the parent profile, you can not send a confirmation email once the appointment is booked. If the parent has complete access, it should default to send the confirmation to the parent if it is linked and/or if you add the parent as an additional client on the appointment.

ALL of this! It honestly might prevent my very large group practice (50+ clinicians) from moving forward with practiceQ because our practice is primarily children, more than half of whom have divorced parents. I need to be able to add parents to the client profile, send consent forms to both parents, and send appt reminders/confirmations to both parents.

It would also be nice to have the ability to link more than one parent to child's portal. Our clientele is primarily children. In many cases the parents do not live in the same household. We need for both parents to have access to the child's portal.

Agree, would also be useful to be able to register the child’s email address (if they have one), but to send the consent form for the guardian to sign as well.
